Service Description

Forests cover 31% of the global land area, and only 1/3 are considered primary forest, the most carbon dense areas with functional ecosystems minimally impacted by human interactions. The most biodiverse forests are tropical rainforests. They cover 6% of the earth surface but are home to more than 50% of the world’s plants, fungi and animal species. They are some of the earth oldest living ecosystems, with some surviving in their current form since more than 70 million years. Learn more about forests ecosystems & tropical rainforests, their ecologies and threats in the world and the Philippines in this specialized module. This course is designed as an introduction training module to any CRCP terrestrial ecology specialty. It is perfect for beginners who would like to refresh their base knowledge and dive into the world of forests and rainforests. Standards - Understand what is a forest, their importance and global status. - Understand what are tropical rainforests, their importance and global conservation status - Dive into the tropical forests of the Philippines and obtain a bigger picture on the state of forestry and related conservation in this country - Get an introduction on Philippine rainforests ecology and endemic species living in those ecosystems Inclusions - 1 classroom session to teach about ecology and conservation of rainforest ecosystems - 1 field expedition in local forest to complement classroom session and develop identification skills of forest organisms. Cancellation Policy

Our booking policy is as follows: • A booking is considered secured, when a date is agreed, and a non-refundable deposit has been paid. Until then a placement is not secured. • The outstanding balance is kindly to be paid at least a month before arrival. In case of bookings within a month of arrival, full amount is to be paid as soon as possible. • Those who wish to pay everything in one go to avoid additional banking fees, may do so. Our cancellation policy is as follows: • Cancellation for any reason at all, 60 or more days before your arrival will result in a complete refund, less the non-refundable booking fee. • Cancellation 59-42 days prior to arrival will result in a partial 75% refund, less the non- refundable booking fee. • Cancellation 41-22 days prior to arrival will result in a partial 50% refund, less the non-refundable booking fee. • Any cancellation within the last 21 days before your arrival, will not result in a refund. • No refunds will be issued for stays cut short while on base. • Any refunds cannot exceed the sum actually received by CRCP, so any receiving banking fee charges will be deducted from any refunds. If you need to cancel, we allow rescheduling without additional charges as long as you warn us at least a month before the booked program start. How to send payment: Payments can be received in Philippine PESOS through bank transfer or online payment platform such as Paypal. Please contact us directly if you wish to pay via bank transfer.
